Assembly District 83 – Alan DeYoung

Who I am

As a lifelong Wisconsin resident, raised in Brookfield, now living in Muskego, I decided to run for office for the first time this year. I earned my Bachelors Degree at Marian University in Fond du Lac in Information Technology and Healthcare Administration and earned my Masters Degree at Bellevue University (Bellevue, NE) in Strategic Marketing. I have spent my career as a small business owner in remodeling and construction, worked for a Fortune 100 company, a Chicago-based startup, and a nonprofit association. I currently serve as the Sales & Marketing Director for the Wisconsin EMS Association. I have experience in multiple industries such as medical devices, healthcare, information technology, emergency services/ public safety, construction, and remodeling. Although this is my first go-around with politics, I’m not shy about my values and stances. I am a die-hard moderate at heart and hope to represent my entire district, not just one side.

Why I am Running

I choose to run after meet many of the current representatives and realizing that they didn’t represent the entire district. Laws were being passed to benefit the few and serious issues, particularly with public safety, were not being addressed and pushed to the waste-side by politically driven excuses. I didn’t choose to run to make friends or have people ‘like’ me. I choose to run since I’m concerned with our future as a state and as a country. I am concerned what the future will look like for my children. I don’t like political excuses, nor will I make them. There are thousands of issues and problems that plague our state and districts, we need to find smart solutions to fix them and not just avoid the problem.
