Who I am
I have been married for 31 years to my wife Pam. I have lived on the eastside for 30 years and own a small business, W.R. Stewart & Associates, where attorneys actively assist families, small business owners, and many nonprofit groups in our community. My work has included cases before the trial courts, Courts of Appeal, and the Wisconsin Supreme Court. In addition to practicing law for 36 years, I have taught classes in government at Beloit College and business law at Madison College. I worked for the Wisconsin Assembly from 1978 until 1983, serving both in the Office of the Speaker and for a legislative committee. My knowledge of how government works will help me serve the people of Assembly District 48.
Why I am Running
I am running to continue vigorous and experienced representation in the State Assembly. I will focus on those issues most important to the District, such as the quality of health care, affordable drug prices, protecting the environment, social justice, qualified immunity reform, good schools, and recovering our jobs. As the representative I will offer the ability and the experience to navigate the complexities of state government. I understand how to meet the needs of individuals, families, small businesses, and our community’s organizations. I will use my experience to hit the ground running on Day 1 because I am already familiar with how the legislature operates and how to get the work done.
I am the candidate who has all the qualifications you want in a legislator. I welcome the chance to serve. Please browse my Facebook and Website for the key issues which I promise to focus on as we move Wisconsin forward.
